MiScore Device Compatibility
MiScore is now a widely used method of scoring at many clubs and courses. Almost everyone owns a mobile device and uses it for an average of 3 hours a day, according to a recent consumer survey by Deloitte. Although, as new mobile technology progresses, older devices become redundant and incompatible with current operating systems (OS) and apps. Older mobile devices simply lack the hardware requirements to keep up with the latest software. Unfortunately, this means older phones will eventually be incompatible with the MiScore app over time.
Mobile OS updates are provided by Apple and Google and all apps must comply with these standards to function properly. Therefore, it is essential for MiScore users to update their mobile devices to keep up with current versions of iOS and Android operating systems. We strongly recommend advising your members using MiScore to keep up with iOS and Android updates, ensuring their device remains compatible to avoid any issues that could result from scoring on an older phone. Generally, devices over 6 years old have difficulties running current technology, and OS updates are discontinued.
To use the MiScore app on an Apple device, users will need to use an iPhone 6s or later model. The minimum OS requirement to use MiScore on an Apple device is iOS 13 or higher. To update your iOS version, please go to “Settings”, then “General, then “Software Update”. If you need further help updating your device, you can find instructions on the Apple website.
The minimum requirement to use MiScore on Android devices is Version 8 or higher. Currently the latest version of Android is Version 13. There are hundreds of compatible Android devices you can use MiScore on. To update your Android version, just go to the device settings.
